IKE ECHERUO
Managing Partner

Mr. Echeruo is founder and Managing Partner at Constant Capital, a pan-African investment banking firm. Mr. Echeruo is responsible for the overall strategic direction and business performance of Constant Capital and the other companies that make up the Constant Group. He has over two decades of experience serving as an adviser to companies on corporate finance transactions, including public offerings, private placements and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Echeruo has represented commercial and investment banks, corporations, private individuals and government agencies in varied financing transactions, including raising equity and debt financing for projects in Africa. For instance, he led the Constant Capital team that advised Skye Bank on a $100 million convertible debt offering and a West African privatized telecom company, in a securitized equipment acquisition and financing transaction with a major United States telecom equipment manufacturer. Among other transactions in Nigeria, Mr. Echeruo has advised several Nigerian banks in structured financing transactions with nominal values exceeding $1.5 billion, structured and arranged financing for a United States energy company’s $150 million investment and management participation in a Nigerian oil sector project. Mr. Echeruo’s experience covers debt, equity, equity-linked and asset-backed securities, derivatives and structured products. His expertise includes securitizations, repackagings, multilateral agency funding, export related financing, collateralized bond and loan offerings, note programmes, commercial paper and depository receipt programmes and convertible debt and warrant issues.

He has served as advisor to the Nigeria Stock Exchange on its structured finance and derivative securities initiatives. He also led the team that advised the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Monetary Union (WAMU) in developing integrated monetary instruments and assisting them in modernizing the financial systems of their respective member states. He has advised on pre-privatization reviews and valuation exercises, structured finance initiatives, and international capital market financings for several Nigerian private sector institutions.

Mr. Echeruo received law degrees from University of Nigeria and Indiana University. He also earned an M.B.A. from Indiana University.

Ben Ahiaglo
Partner

Mr. Ahiaglo is co-founder and Partner at Constant Capital. He has over 25 years of experience in investment banking. Mr. Ahiaglo is currently directly responsible for the Firm’s Ghana Investment Banking and Growth Equity Investing activities. He is Managing Director of Constant Capital Ghana.

Mr. Ahiaglo previously worked in senior roles in capital markets and investment banking at Lehman Brothers in New York, where he was involved in the origination and execution of convertible debt, preferred and equity-derivatives financing transactions, and strategic advisory mandates, for blue-chip corporate and institutional clients. Before Lehman Brothers, he was a trader in the Derivatives Products Group at Republic National Bank/ HSBC, also in New York, trading options (cross asset – EM Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities and Funds).

Notable deals he has worked on include the structuring and issuance of $350 million principal amount of zero yield puttable securities (ZYPS) for a NASDAQ-listed telecom services company; a $150 million PIPE investment by a major shareholder in an international telephone services carrier; and a $500 million financing for an LBO sponsor for a competitive cross-border bid for a global aircraft engines components manufacturer.

More recently, Mr. Ahiaglo has co-advised (along with two different global banks) on a $150 million financing for the development of downstream oil and gas infrastructure, and also a $750 million structured financing proposal for the re-development of landside and airside airports assets in Ghana; advised on an equity and debt capital raise for a $450 million mixed-use real estate development project in Lagos, Nigeria; and has also led many high profile capital raises, recapitalizations, restructurings and other strategic advisory mandates for selected private and public companies, and major parastatals in Ghana and Nigeria.

Mr. Ahiaglo has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and received his B. Sc. from the University of Ghana.

Omoniyi Omojola
Partner

Mr. Omojola is a Partner at Constant Capital. He is an experienced corporate finance and investment expert with transaction experience in the United States, Latin America, Australia, Europe and Africa. He is currently directly responsible for the Firm’s Nigeria Investment Banking and Growth Equity Investing activities. He is Managing Director of Constant Capital Nigeria.

Mr. Omojola previously worked for several years in top tier global investment and financial firms, including Citigroup Corporate and Investment Bank in New York and Leucadia National Corporation in Salt Lake City (now Jefferies Financial Group). This broad and extensive range of experiences has allowed Mr. Omojola to gain expertise in advising equity issuers, debt issuers, structured finance and derivative issuers as well as listed and private equity and debt and credit investors. Mr. Omojola was previously responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing private equity transactions in an Africa based private equity fund, with a focus on West Africa. Responsibilities included transaction sourcing, coordination, valuation, structuring, due diligence, management of external advisors. He evaluated investments in several industries including oil and gas exploration and services, power generation, agriculture, consumer products, manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications and logistics At Leucadia, Mr. Omojola was a member of 3-person deal team responsible for advising senior management on acquisitions and divestitures of a $6 billion private investment portfolio. Responsibilities included valuation, recommendation and transactional due diligence (including negotiating legal agreements and supervising external advisors) of both debt and equity securities of public and private companies. He evaluated and executed investments in the financial services, natural resources, real estate, manufacturing, and retail industries worth over $700 million.

Mr. Omojola has gained extensive buy-side and financial advisory experience in Nigeria and the United States of America of liquid, illiquid, debt, and equity investment and as a result, he is able to evaluate deals from a comprehensive perspective, evaluating deeply what all sides need and require to effectively close a transaction. Clients have included listed companies, private entities, government entities as well as international investors and organizations.

Mr. Omojola received a B.A. from The University of Chicago and earned an M.B.A. (Distinction) from Harvard Business School.
